McATEER, Rev Fr Leo Thomas: peacefully on Wednesday 2^nd November 2016 at Timaru, aged 84 years; loved confrere of the Society of Mary and priest in the diocese of Christchurch, loved son of the late Leo and Kathleen McAteer , loved brother of Mary and the late Felix Sugrue, (Ashburton) and the late Margaret Kinney and Bernadette Flaherty and loved uncle of his nephews and nieces. A rosary will be held at St Mary’s Church, Pleasant Point on Sunday 6 November at 7.00 p.m. and a requiem eucharist will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Basilica, Craigie Avenue, Timaru on Monday 7^th November at 11.00 am, followed by interment at Timaru Cemetery. Leo was wonderfully looked after by the staff of Wallingford Home in Temuka and especially by Andrea and the Walls family. May he rest in peace.
